My Darling Natalie,

In the blink of an eye, you’ve turned six. We’ve had a long year, moving away from the home you’ve always lived in, to a new house, in a new state. You’ve had to adjust to a new school, make new friends. And while there were times you were nervous, you persevered, because that’s who you are - a brave girl with a tenacity that cannot be measured.

I am proud to be your mom for so many reasons. I love how much you care for your little sister, always teaching her, always taking care of her. I admire your compassion for others, and how you aren’t afraid to wear your heart on your sleeve. I adore the level of positivity and excitement you bring to everything that you do.

Happy 6th birthday, sweetheart. Here’s to another year of laughs, learning, and love.

For Natalie’s birthday this year, she only really wanted one thing - a haircut. So on Friday, a haircut she got (courtesy of Rooted Salon) - and I have to say, it looks fabulous. We also celebrated with some of her friends at the park on Saturday, and had lunch and cake at home with family on Sunday. Because when your birthday falls on a Monday, you celebrate the entire weekend before - right?
